Elementary Judaic Studies
Rabbi Grossbaum grew up in Stony Brook, Long Island, in a rabbinical home and attended his local Jewish day school. His educational journey took him to the Tomchei Temimim Rabbinical Academy in Brunoy, France, and the Oholei Torah Academy in Brooklyn, New York. He also spent a year serving as a student rabbi with the Jewish community of Caracas, Venezuela, where he further developed his passion for Jewish education and community leadership.
Rabbi Grossbaum received his rabbinical ordination and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the Rabbinical College of America. Before joining Starr Family Jewish Day School, he taught Judaic Studies in Hebrew schools, summer programs, and day schools, including ULY Yeshivah–Ocean Parkway and Gan Yisroel Day School in Brooklyn, New York.
At Starr JDS, Rabbi Grossbaum is known for his enthusiasm, warmth, and dedication to helping students develop a meaningful connection to Torah, Jewish values, and lifelong learning. His engaging teaching style and genuine care for each student make him a valued member of our school community.
Rabbi Grossbaum and his wife, Naomi, are the proud parents of 11 children, and they are deeply committed to strengthening Jewish life in the San Antonio community.
